Business Card System
Designed and developed for printing companies, it enables those businesses to take business cards from cradle to grave via the Internet. Critical to the success of this idea was maintaining strict WYSIWYG funtioning, so that the customer would be guaranteed to get the exact product that they saw on the website. This was accomplished by holding all data, images, and fonts on the sever, and scaling them to the resolutions needed for viewing or printing. At the same time, it was necessary to enable advanced design features only found in desktop applications. We enabled those features in the browser, without compromising the WYSIWIG functioning for the designer or the customer.

Some key features:

• Provides three distinct roles: Printer, Manager, and Customer
• Supports unlimited business card templates.
• Supports unlimited fonts, that can be uploaded by the user.
• Enables full control of font scaling and stretching.
• Enables advanced formatting of fonts through kerning and tracking.
• Supports all common image file formats.
• Enables full manipulation of image scaling and stretching.
• Allows printing business cards on both sides.
• Generates completed card preview images at multiple resolutions.
• Generates print quality images at unlimited resolutions.
(typically at 600dpi, 1200dpi, 2400dpi)

This system was first implemented in 2001, and is still in use today.
